I listen to this Bengali song when I am depressed and when I am happy and all the times in between. This  song by  Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore was inspired by “Auld Lang Syne”, a Scottish poem composed by Robert Burns. Though I am a Bengali, I do not listen to Tagore’s songs all that much. Perhaps this has something to do with my younger days in Kolkata when one was forced to  listen to indifferent renditions of  ‘Rabindrasangeet” (Tagore’s songs).  But this song is a particular favourite. It is also about nostalgia, about loss of old friends  and memories that will always remain. Enjoy the song, the film clip, even if you don’t know Bengali.
