Have just got back from Shillong, Meghalaya after taking part in a really interesting event.  I was part of an international team of trainers  at a Summer School, jointly organised by GIZ-CCA-NER and GIZ-IGEP ( part of Indo-German Environment  Partnership). Some  30 students and 20 trainers from Journalism Schools in Meghalaya, Sikkim, Nagaland, Delhi and Kashmir took part  in the “Summer School on Media for Disaster Risk Reduction”  in Shillong (September 19 to 23, 2012). We had a lot of fun with interactive sessions, games and role-plays.  It was also exciting because I was part of the Indo-German team which had developed the curriculum  on reporting disaster and disaster preparedness which was being pilot-tested. Some rich insights talking to students, local media and experts which I have woven into my latest column in The Asian Age and Deccan Chronicle
